BETTY CROCKER PANCAKE RECIPE
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 Tbl granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 beaten egg
1 cup milk
1 Tbl cooking oil
Stir together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, mild, and oil; add all at once to flour mixture, stirring till blended but still slightly lumpy. Pour about 1/4 cup batter onto a hot, lightly greased griddle or heavy skillet. Cook tip golden brown. Turning to cook other side when pancakes have a bubbly surface and slightly dry edges. Makes about eight 4 inch pancakes or about 30 dollar-size pancakes.
The night I make this for our Young Women I multiplied the recipe above four times. I might have thrown in more sugar cuz that's how I roll :)
HOMEMADE MAPLE SYRUP
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup water
1 tsp Mapleine
Bring water and sugar to a boil, and until it turns clear. Turn off heat and add/stir in Mapleine flavoring. You can play with your desired level of Mapleine to make it darker if you want.
GLENN-GRAYSEN'S BUTTER CARMEL SYRUP OF DELICIOUSNESS
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups granulated sugar
1 stick butter
2 Tbl light Karo Syrup
2 tsp baking soda
CAUTION: USE A BIGGER PAN TO COOK IN, BECAUSE IT LIKES TO BOIL OVER AND CREATE THE MESS OF THE CENTURY!!!
In a larger pot, on the stove melt the butter and then add the rest of the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil continue watching and stirring. The directions say to boil 7 min, but I've never made it that long. As soon as it starts boiling and rising, I turn it off and stir in 2 tsp of VANILLA. I love this stuff, I could almost drink it. ENJOY :)
